Cheese, wine & the art of a very good picnic — a boutique fromagerie and cellar run by Raf, with in-store wine tastings.

More about Quince Cellar

Tucked right at the entrance to Cornerstone Stores in Tugun, Quince Fromagerie & Cellar is the southern Gold Coast's go-to corner shop for the good stuff: cheese, honest wine and the art of a very good picnic. Part fromagerie, part cellar, part deli, Quince is the place locals drift into for a wedge of something delicious, a thoughtfully chosen bottle and a recommendation when they want one. Run by owner Raf and a team that genuinely loves what it sells, it's a little fromagerie and cellar by the sea where everything is chosen by hand, tasted first, and stocked because it's worth it.

At the heart of the shop is a walk-in cheese room stocking more than forty cheeses from across Europe and beyond, cut to order at the counter. Soft, hard, blue and everything in between, every piece is wrapped not in plastic but in specially imported French waxed cheese paper, so it keeps and breathes the way good cheese should. Alongside the cheese sits a generous deli of charcuterie, olives, crackers, preserves, oils, honey and pantry provisions, so it's easy to build a board, a picnic or a dinner-party spread from a single counter. Not sure where to start? Tell the team who's coming and they'll build the board for you.

Wine lovers will find an entire section of the store devoted to more than one hundred wines, from honest, low-intervention drops by small growers to classic varietals sourced from leading regions across France, Italy, Spain, South America and California, plus local Australian favourites. There's champagne and bubbles for the occasion, a considered range of spirits and liqueurs, and a team that includes sommeliers and European wine and food experts. There's no snobbery here, just good taste and a genuine steer towards the right bottle for your night, your budget and the cheese already in your basket.

Quince is also the southern Gold Coast's quiet hero for gifting. Choose from beautifully curated ready-made hampers or build a custom one, paired thoughtfully so the food and wine actually belong together, then collect in store or have it delivered. Local Tugun delivery is free, hampers are sent Australia-wide, and corporate and branded gifting is a speciality for businesses wanting to give something people will remember. Round it out with gift vouchers, books and a lovely collection of picnicking essentials, from blankets and woven baskets to glassware and fold-away timber picnic tables, made for the beaches and parklands just around the corner.

For something more memorable, Quince hosts private wine tasting nights led by Raf: a relaxed, guided walk through a handful of wines, both natural and classic, matched with cheese and charcuterie straight from the counter. They're a favourite for birthdays, hens nights, engagements, work teams and clubs, with the line-up tailored to your group and the occasion, and the shop also runs occasional long-table events in the Cornerstone courtyard. The easiest way to start is a quick call or message to talk through your group size, date and what you're celebrating.

You'll find Quince Fromagerie & Cellar at Shop 5, Cornerstone Stores, 570 Gold Coast Highway, Tugun, directly opposite Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. As part of the Cornerstone precinct it's dog-friendly with free parking and open seven days, so it's an easy stop whether you're stocking up for a Currumbin picnic, grabbing a bottle on the way to dinner or putting together a gift that feels considered. Pop in Sunday to Thursday 9am to 4pm or Friday and Saturday 9am to 6pm, and let the team help you find good cheese, honest wine and gifting worth giving.
